What’s Left

Comments Off on What’s Left

We’ve had garage sales the past two weekends and got rid of quite a bit of stuff, but we still have some left. And since we have to be out of our apartment on the 30th, we need to get rid of the rest of it, soon. Here’s some of the stuff we have left as well as the price we’d, ideally, like for each item. If you’re interested, give me a call as soon as you can, since, you know, we’ve only got six days left. 918-287-8014.

So, It’s November, An Update

Comments Off on So, It’s November, An Update

Many of you are probably wondering whether we’ll be departing for Germany soon. Our goal has been to leave for BFA in October, and since it’s mid-way through November, you might be wondering where are we in all with all of this Germany business. In five words or less, we’re in Arkansas.

Right now, we have 20% of our support, which is the same amount we had at the end of September. 20% is actually a great amount to have after only a month or two of support raising, but it’s not great enough to get us to Germany right now. We need 80% of our monthly support in order to book tickets for Germany (are you tired of hearing me say that?), so we still need to raise 60% of our monthly support before we can make plans to head to Germany.

Obviously, we’re not ready to pack our bags at this point. We were hoping to be ready in October because BFA asked us to come as soon as we could. We also want to have as much time as possible with the students at BFA. Our situation is a little different from the normal missionary. Most missionaries raise support in 3/6/12/25 months and then leave for the field. Their ministries begin once they arrive. Our ministry is already happening. BFA is already in session. Students leave for Christmas in December. In June, the school year is over. Every day, we are literally loosing time with the students there.  Which makes me so sad! Sniff. Sniff.

So, what’s our plan now?

Buy-Our-Stuff Sale

Come one, come all, to the amazing Buy-Our-Stuff Sale! That’s right folks, we’re hoping to sell all, or at least most, of our stuff this Saturday. We’re opening our apartment up for you to rummage through. We’ll be selling furniture, dishes, linens, books, DVDs, CDs, appliances and other random things. We’d love for you to stop by and take some stuff off our hands. You might even be able to name your own price for some items. And hey, by buying our bookshelves, you’re helping us get to BFA.

Come by our apartment, 2753 N. Ida Lindsey Drive, Apartment 4, Fayetteville, AR, on Saturday, November 14th from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and we’ll point out the best stuff to buy. If you need directions, give me a call at 918-287-8014.

Also, keep BFA in your prayers. They have quite a few students who are sick with the flu. At least one student is being tested for the Swine Flu. Pray that there will not be a Swine Flu outbreak at BFA and that those who are sick will recover quickly.

An update on our support is coming soon!
