At BFA, school started on August 25th. Since we’re already running late, we’d like to be there as soon as possible. But there’s no way we can do that without your help. Seriously. Not lying about that.
Because 90% of BFA’s students come from missionary families, the school tries to keep their costs as low as possible. This means that all of the faculty and staff at the Black Forest Academy are missionaries and must raise their own support.
We are going to be living in Europe, where things are
just a tad more expensive, so the cost of living is higher. Our monthly support amount covers our living expenses: rent, utilities, home and car maintenance, food, clothes, gas, German fees and taxes, and all that other normal stuff. But, much of that $5,418 also goes toward our travel to and from the US, expenses while in the US, retirement, health care, ministry expenses and other such things.
I know it seems like a lot, but don’t worry, we’re not going to be tipping with $100 bills and buying diamond studded shoes. And we didn’t come up with that number on our own. We are going to Germany through an organization called TeachBeyond. They actually began as part of Janz Team Ministries, the group that started BFA. TeachBeyond is our sending organization, which means that they are the missionary agency that supports us as we serve at Black Forest Academy. They have years of experience with all of this financial stuff. TeachBeyond set the amount we have to raise, because they know what they’re talking about and we don’t.
Normally, it takes a year to raise support. We’re trying to do it in one month! It’s pretty much impossible. But, we’re depending on our marvelous God to come through and do the impossible.

We need people like you, you who are reading this blog, to give. By supporting us, you will invest in God’s work all over the world by developing the mental, physical, relational and spiritual lives of missionary kids, whose families minister in over 50 countries.
You’re probably thinking, I can’t give $5,000 a month. Well of course not! I don’t know anyone who can. But can you give $25 a month? Here’s one way our support could break down.
45 people giving $25 a month = $1,125
24 people giving $50 a month = $1,200
11 people giving $100 a month = $1,100
2 people giving $500 a month = $1,000
1 people giving $1000 a month = $1,000
Add it all up and you get $5,425. See, that’s not so scary.
Here’s what we’re asking you to do. Today, pray about whether God would like you to support us. Pray about what amount he’d like you to give. Then, tomorrow, if God wants you to support us, download this form and mail it in to TeachBeyond. Your gift will be tax deductible and sooo very appreciated by us. We can’t wait to see how God will work this all out.
