Baby Girl or Baby Boy?
Before we flew to the States in July, we had our 19 week checkup with the doctor. She spent a few minutes examining our baby and then said, “Well, I see no penis.” So we think that means we’re having a GIRL!!! Our excitement for baby girl continues to grow as she does. We’re feeling, and sometimes seeing, her move all the time now. As we think through name options, we’re quite fond of the meanings “wished for child” and “my God is gracious.”
Over the next few weeks, we are taking an intensive class on the Bradley method of childbirth, also called the husband-coached method. This is usually a 12 week class, but we’re trying to fit in as many sessions as we can before returning to Germany mid-August.
We Can’t Do This Alone
We are in Northwest Arkansas until August 5th, and Oklahoma from August 6 to 14. While we’re here, we must raise at least $1,300 in new monthly support, or $16,000 in one time gifts, which would fund the next year. This new support helps us to cover the expenses that Baby Girl will bring. We must raise this money before we can return to Germany. Since we’ve been away for four years, we don’t know too many new folks and most of the people we know are already on our team!
This is where you come in.
One, we’d love to share our ministry with new folks and invite them to partner with us in our work. Do you have a small group we could share with? If you live in Northwest Arkansas or the Tulsa/Muskogee area, and would like us to share with your group, please let us know as soon as possible. We don’t have too much time left, and are hoping we don’t need to delay our return to Germany. I (Dani) am very eager to get back and prepare things for baby!
Two, would you consider increasing your giving? Say you’ve been faithfully giving $25 each month. Would you be able to increase to $50 per month? Even $5 increases make a difference! You could also give a special, one-time gift.
Try giving using our new personalized giving page! This is a tool that we hope to make available to all of TeachBeyond in the near future. We’re the guinea pigs, so let us know if you encounter any problems!
- Health – Continue to pray that Baby Girl and I remain healthy. We’re at week 24 of pregnancy. Israel’s helping me to do exercises to stay comfortable and prepare for birth. Thus far, we’ve had no complications, for which we are very grateful. I am having some back and rib pain, which seems to worsen while driving and flying.
- Our Mindset – Anytime we raise support, we battle fear and anxiety. This time around, we are doing much better about choosing faith over fear, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy! We want to see our circumstances from God’s perspective and recognize his great goodness and faithfulness in them. Someone reminded us recently that God wouldn’t give us this long-waited child without providing for her. What a good truth to remember.
- Support – Join us in ask God to bring in our needed support by August 14. We know that only he can meet our financial needs. We are excited to see how he does that this time around.
- Blessing Others – We want to be a blessing to those we interact with. Sometimes, we get so caught up in our own concerns, we forget to reach out. Our desire is to minister to and love those around us.
Thank you once again for traveling with us on our journey. We are ever-grateful for the people God has placed in our lives.
